About the role

Company Overview: Our client is a premier global alternative investment firm managing over $20 billion in assets. Founded over two decades ago, the firm is a recognized leader in distressed and special situations investing across private equity and credit.
The Opportunity: Our client is seeking a high-caliber Investment Associate/Senior Associate to join the firm’s flagship distressed and special situations strategy.
Core Investment Strategies:
  • You will be involved in all stages of the investment lifecycle across three primary pillars: Distressed for Control: Executing complex restructurings by acquiring senior debt positions to ultimately convert into equity ownership, targeting significant discounts to intrinsic value.
  • Special Situations: Participating in unique event-driven opportunities, including public-to-private transactions, corporate carve-outs, and private credit workouts.
  • Distressed Credit Trading: Analyzing liquid debt instruments for "pull-to-par" opportunities and high-yield secondary market trades.
  • Candidate Qualifications
Experience: 3–8 years of experience at a top-tier investment bank (M&A, Leveraged Finance, or Restructuring) or a reputable buy-side firm (Private Equity or Distressed Debt). Technical Excellence: Superior financial modeling skills and a deep understanding of capital structures and bankruptcy/restructuring frameworks. Intellectual Curiosity: A contrarian mindset with the ability to look past market volatility to find fundamental value. Execution Skills: Ability to operate effectively within a lean team environment, managing multiple workstreams with high attention to detail.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
