About the Role: We are recruiting on behalf of a major subsea cable contractor for an experienced Senior Cable Installation Engineer/EIC with a strong deepwater background to join an international installation programme. This is primarily a hands-on technical role. The successful candidate will be involved from the pre-project phase, participating in HAZID/HAZOP and design reviews onshore, before mobilising offshore for installation campaigns. We are looking for someone who has been at the sharp end of deepwater cable lay operations — someone who has dealt with technical challenges as they arise offshore, and has direct experience with repeatered systems and branching units in deepwater environments.
Key Responsibilities: Hands-on management and troubleshooting of deepwater cable lay operations Technical oversight of repeatered system installation including branching units Participation in onshore HAZID/HAZOP and design review sessions prior to offshore mobilisation Acting as senior technical lead during marine installation campaigns Working closely with vessel teams, project management and client representatives offshore Shift supervision and management of installation activities Daily reporting and documentation
Required Experience: Minimum 10 years experience in subsea cable installation Proven deepwater experience, 2500m WD or greater Direct experience with repeatered subsea fibre optic cable systems Experience with branching units Makai lay system experience preferred Experience working across multiple installation vessels internationally Ability to act as OIM or senior client representative is a strong advantage Valid offshore certifications (BOSIET, OGUK medical)What's on Offer Competitive day rate 183 guaranteed offshore days per year minimum Work from home days Long-term stability with a growing international programme Potential for permanent position for the right candidate Travel and expenses covered
