JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Carrier Solutions is responsible for overseeing all carrier solutions representatives, ensuring the company maintains a robust and qualified carrier network while monitoring the day-to-day operations and department efficiencies, and making sure all KPIs are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Follow and execute all aspects of the EASE Logistics Carrier Journey. Manage large-scale projects for the executive team. Work with executive management to develop, implement, and track KPIs for all Carrier Solutions employees. Establish cross-training schedules for all personnel in Carrier Solutions department. Build and maintain relationships with new and existing carriers to effectively support our customer network. Establish, manage, and monitor carrier KPIs and scorecards. Utilize benchmarks to procure transportation services at rates that are competitive to DSC.Act as the escalation point for carriers and internal teams to resolve service and operational issues or concerns. Communicate market conditions that may impact capacity, cost, and service. Negotiate and manage carrier contracts, terms, and renewals. Collaborate with carriers and internal teams on continual improvement initiatives. Ensure operations are reviewed before assigning or leaving the appropriate personnel. Establish and build out a Carrier Solutions team that can maintain coverage of 60%+ of total freight. Represent the Carrier Solutions team in Director Meetings and Operations communication. Maintain functionality of PNNs, Waterfalls, Load boards, Continuous Moves and other tools within our TMS.Maintain steady/increased growth rates by working with the Business Solutions team. Other duties as assigned. LEADERSHIP AND SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for providing leadership, mentorship, direction, feedback, and support for Carrier Solutions Managers and other team members. Responsible in assisting with the onboarding, education, and development of new team members when they join your team. QUALIFICIATIONSEducationHigh School Diploma or GED required. A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of related experience are preferred. An associate’s degree and a minimum of 4-5 years of related experience are preferred.
Experience: In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 6+ years of related experience is preferred. Additional related training and certifications will be weighted on a case-by-case basis.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Energetic, relentless, and thrives on hunting for opportunities. Sales, customer service, and/or negotiation-related talents. Excellent communicator with a great phone presence. Constructive problem solver. Flexible with work hours and adaptable to changing workload. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Teams, Excel, and Word. Experience in the transportation industry is an asset; otherwise, one must be willing to learn a lot very fast. Ability to remain calm under sometimes stressful situations. Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to different situations.
