About the role
Electrical Engineer III HFA Electrical is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer III to join our team and lead electrical engineering projects across a diverse range of commercial and industrial project types. In this role, you’ll serve as a technical leader and Design Lead or Engineer of Record (EOR), overseeing electrical design, supporting project teams, mentoring engineers and designers, and delivering accurate, code-compliant, high-quality solutions with minimal oversight.
What You’ll Do:
Lead electrical design and delivery for complex commercial and industrial projects.
Serve as Design Lead or Engineer of Record (EOR) on large-scale and complex assignments.
Develop lighting and power systems, one-line diagrams, specifications, calculations, and equipment selections.
Perform photometric calculations, fault current analysis, and system evaluations.
Apply NEC, energy codes, and national standards throughout the design process.
Review and provide quality control for construction documents and technical deliverables.
Lead and mentor project teams of 1–5 staff.
Collaborate with Architects, Engineers, and clients to develop practical, high-quality solutions.
Support project budgets, client relationships, proposals, and technical communications.
Help drive quality, constructability, and engineering excellence across projects.
What We’re Looking For:
BSEE from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Strong experience across multiple project types or deep expertise in a specialized area.
Hands-on experience with large-scale commercial and industrial projects.
Strong technical expertise in lighting, power, electrical systems, and applicable codes.
Experience leading teams, managing projects, and working directly with clients.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to obtain licensure in multiple states where HFA performs work.
