About the role
The Health Program Specialist develops, coordinates, and implements public health programs addressing specific health issues across Arkansas, such as communicable disease control, chronic disease prevention, and health promotion. The role involves program evaluation, community outreach, stakeholder collaboration, and compliance with public health regulations. Based in the Division of Health Protection – Infectious Disease, the position requires frequent in-state travel and field work in Miller, Columbia, Ouachita, or Union counties.
Key qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in public health, health science, social work, education, public administration, or closely related field Experience working in public health, communicable disease investigation, and case management preferred Experience working with diverse and high-risk populations preferred Proficiency with data systems and digital tools such as Microsoft Excel and Share Point Strong written and verbal communication skills Valid driver's license required
