About the role
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Design, develop, and release components for frame, body, and cabin components.
- Develop welded steel assemblies, metal castings, plastics, rubber components, multi-part assemblies, and electrical components.
- Create 3D models, engineering drawings, and study files using CATIA.Manage engineering data and files within a PDM system.
- Produce high-quality drawings that clearly address design intent, materials, dimensions, tolerances, quality characteristics, and product requirements.
- Use FEA software to evaluate and validate designs.
- Define system parameters and engineer components to meet performance and durability requirements.
- Participate in recurring design reviews and communicate technical information across the engineering organization.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to achieve manufacturability, cost, quality, and delivery goals.
- Collaborate with testing teams to establish prototype tests and pass/fail criteria.
- Create and maintain DFMEAs, bills of material, engineering change instructions, and other simultaneous-engineering documentation.
- Manage component-development schedules and support on-time project delivery.
- What You’ll Need to Be Successful
- Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Five or more years of product design or product-development experience.
- Experience with 3D CAD and PDM systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong documentation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-cultural teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
CATIA experience.
Product-design experience in material handling, automotive, or heavy equipment.
Experience with FEA, DFMEA, BOM development, engineering changes, and component validation.
