About the role
Hybrid: WFH 2-3x per week The Assistant Controller oversees daily accounting operations and financial reporting for corporate management entities. The successful candidate will manage financial processes, guide accounting staff, and drive process improvements. The position offers clear career growth into broader executive financial management.
Responsibilities:
Manage accounting workflows across multiple business entities. Ensure transaction processing meets GAAP and internal standards. Oversee close cycles (monthly, quarterly, annual) for accuracy. Review entries, reconciliations, and consolidated financial statements. Investigate financial variances and budget discrepancies. Coordinate external audit processes and fulfill annual compliance needs. Supervise, mentor, and train accounting team members. Upgrade accounting technology and streamline workflows. Partner with executives on strategic initiatives and cross-department projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Advanced degree is desirable. CPA license strongly preferred. Approximately 5+ years of progressive accounting background. Advanced knowledge of GAAP, financial controls, and ERP systems.
