The New River Valley Regional Jail is an 1183 bed adult local correctional facility with an average daily population of 650 inmates and a staff of approximately 200. This position involves professional, administrative and technical skills encompassing responsibilities for overall operation of the regional jail. The successful candidate requires strong management and budgetary experience in correctional or in governmental operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 21 years of age or older, a citizen of the United States, or legally employable in the US. Must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Corrections, or Criminal Justice or related field. A Master’s Degree is preferred. Ten (10) or more years of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in a public, private, or military organization is strongly preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license. A combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements may be substituted. Drug screening and extensive background checks will be performed.
SALARY: $120,000 - $150,000
