Supervisor - Wholesale Electric Market Design Public Utilities CommissionJC-534196 - Supervisor - Wholesale Electric Market Design$12,562.00 - $15,724.00 per Month Final Filing Date: 10/23/2026 This California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as a Program and Project Supervisor supporting California’s evolving energy landscape. This position provides an opportunity to lead a team working on complex energy policy and regulatory issues, including initiatives associated with Assembly Bill 825 (AB 825) and voluntary energy markets. Lead, plan, prioritize, and coordinate section activities, staff assignments, resources, and complex projects. Review and oversee high-quality work products, including policy analyses, memoranda, proceeding documents, legislative analyses, staff proposals, presentations, and other materials. Provide policy and technical expertise on utility regulation, energy markets, and related energy policy issues, and develop recommendations for management consideration. Support implementation of AB 825 and related energy market initiatives by providing oversight and guidance on complex policy and regulatory activities. Supervise, mentor, and develop professional staff, including assigning work, providing feedback, conducting performance appraisals, and supporting recruitment and employee development. Coordinate with Commission management, Administrative Law Judges, Commissioner offices and advisors, other divisions, utilities, government agencies, and other stakeholders. Represent the Commission and Division in internal and external meetings, briefings, presentations, and professional forums. Participate as a member of the Division management team on policy, staffing, budget, training, human resources, information technology, and other organizational matters. Oversee section administrative and operational functions, including scheduling, travel and training, contracts, IT needs, website content, and work tracking.

Working Conditions: This position requires travel. This is a hybrid position that will require the selected candidate to report to their assigned headquarter office a minimum of two (2) days a week. Hybrid positions may be eligible for telework under California Government Code Section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California. In accordance with CPUC Telework Policy, telework arrangements are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time.
