About the role
The Company is a leading national provider of professional vehicle relocation services, with a primary focus on large corporate fleets, fleet management companies, upfitters, dealerships and vehicle OEMs with fast, safe and reliable door-to-door driveaway and trucked transportation service nationwide. The Company's services include fleet shipping and fleet management services; single vehicle "door-to-door driveaway" shipping; expedited shipping; enclosed carrier shipping for high-value vehicles; international (overseas) shipping; short-term and long-term vehicle storage; licensing, titling and registration of vehicles; and vehicle maintenance and reconditioning services. Position The Company is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented leader to oversee its Title & Registration department. The Director, Title & Registration, will lead a skilled team responsible for processing title and registration transactions for the Company's customers while also remaining actively involved in complex transactions, escalations and day-to-day problem solving. This individual will be responsible for maintaining high standards of accuracy, responsiveness and customer service; supporting and developing the department's employees; maintaining strong working relationships with vendors and government agencies; and identifying practical opportunities to improve processes, technology and transaction throughput. The successful candidate will be organized, hands-on and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced operating environment.
Role & Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Lead, manage and develop a high-performing team responsible for accurately and efficiently processing title and registration transactions for the Company's customers. Communicate proactively with customers, internal stakeholders and external partners regarding transaction status, documentation requirements, anticipated timelines and outstanding issues. Maintain expert knowledge of state and local title & registration rules, regulations, and processes and build internal reference materials. Build and maintain effective relationships with tag agents, electronic processing providers, state and local agencies, and other outside partners. Complete title & registration transactions using the Company's technology tools and system integrations. Resolve complex title and registration matters, documentation deficiencies and customer escalations in a timely and practical manner. Develop and maintain consistent workflows, controls and procedures to promote accuracy, compliance and efficient transaction processing. Establish and monitor service standards and department performance measures, including transaction accuracy, turnaround time, backlog and customer responsiveness. Identify and implement practical process and technology improvements that increase accuracy, efficiency, profitability and transaction throughput. Participate in customer presentations and business reviews, representing the title & registration department. Manage the department's budget and financial performance (i.e., P&L responsibility), with accountability for controlling costs and supporting profitable growth. Assume responsibility and leadership for additional projects, as assigned. Help strengthen the Company's reputation as the driveaway company of choice across the United States.
Qualifications:
5+ years of Title & Registration experience, preferably involving multi-state or high-volume transactions. Significant experience working with Department of Motor Vehicles or other licensing agencies required. Strong knowledge of state vehicle licensing, titling, and regulations required. Experience handling multi-jurisdictional and business-to-business licensing and title transactions expected. Experience in the automotive, fleet management, vehicle relocation or transportation industries strongly preferred. Demonstrated success in managing a team and cultivating talent. Exceptional organizational and communication skills. Meticulous attention to detail. High energy, enthusiasm, and drive for achieving results. Passionate about customer experience and customer satisfaction. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and comfort working with transaction-processing and workflow systems. Working knowledge of process development, operational excellence, and capacity planning. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment, recognizing a sense of urgency and self-motivation.
