About the Role: The Commercial Electrician Foreman leads and oversees electrical installation and maintenance projects within commercial settings, ensuring all work complies with safety standards and project specifications. This role is pivotal in coordinating teams of electricians, managing schedules, and maintaining quality control to deliver projects on time and within budget. The foreman acts as the primary point of contact between project managers, clients, and field personnel, facilitating clear communication and efficient problem-solving. They are responsible for interpreting blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical codes to guide their team effectively. Ultimately, the Commercial Electrician Foreman ensures that all electrical systems are installed and maintained to the highest standards, supporting the operational success of commercial facilities.
Minimum Qualifications: Valid electrician license or certification as required by local or state regulations. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a commercial electrician with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role. Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant electrical standards. Proven ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Demonstrated experience in managing teams and coordinating complex commercial electrical projects.
Preferred Qualifications: Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program. Experience with project management software and digital reporting tools. Certification in OSHA safety standards or equivalent safety training. Background in energy-efficient electrical systems and sustainable building practices. Strong leadership training or formal education in construction management.
Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of electricians on commercial construction and maintenance projects. Interpret and implement electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide installation and repair work. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, electrical codes, and company policies on job sites. Manage project timelines, allocate resources efficiently, and report progress to project managers and stakeholders. Conduct quality inspections and troubleshoot electrical issues to maintain high standards of workmanship. Train, mentor, and evaluate electricians and apprentices to promote skill development and adherence to best practices. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, and any incidents or deviations from plans. Coordinate with other trades and contractors to ensure seamless project execution and resolve any on-site conflicts.
