Schedule: Sunday through Friday, starting at 6:30 AM until production is complete.
Job Purpose/Objective:
The Pre-Cut Machine Operator is a multifunctional production employee responsible for operating the entire machine-cut packaging line using proper production methods. The primary objective is to produce high volumes of high-quality machine-cut fruits and vegetables. This role requires extensive product knowledge and adherence to quality standards with minimal supervision from the Pre-Cut Supervisor or Manager. The operator is also responsible for standard food service duties, including proper sanitation practices within the Pre-Cut Department.
Essential Job Functions:
Produce specialty machine-cut products from the Pre-Cut product line.
Maintain knowledge of unprocessed products within the Pre-Cut product line.
Uphold Pre-Cut's high-quality standards, including cut sizes, consistency, color, and ripeness of finished products.
Demonstrate attention to food safety, sanitation, and operational safety while working with industrial food processing equipment.
Maintain cross-functional knowledge of daily production
with minimal supervision and seek or accept guidance from supervisors as needed.
Working Conditions/Job Environment
Physical Demands:
Requires repeated stooping and bending.
Frequent lifting and carrying of boxed, bagged, and tubbed fruits and vegetables weighing up to 60 lbs.
Requires continuous standing for extended periods.
Environmental Conditions:
Working in a 38°F processing area for 8–12 hours. Working in a damp environment for 8–12 hours.
Responsibilities:
Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward current and prospective customers across various communication channels.
Develop a thorough understanding of our product catalog to answer questions and recommend appropriate products.
Support a dedicated team of Sales Account Executives with daily needs while focusing on customer satisfaction and overall sales growth.
Acknowledge and resolve customer complaints promptly and efficiently.
Process orders and requests.
Maintain records of customer interactions, transactions, comments, and complaints.
Dispatch same-day deliveries.
Communicate and coordinate with colleagues, as necessary.
Qualifications:
Ability to recognize letters, numbers, and symbols.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in food preparation or food processing, preferably within the produce industry.
General knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and procedures in a produce food preparation environment.
Ability to follow instructions and established guidelines while performing job functions under immediate supervision.
Ability to repeatedly lift up to 60 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.2–4 years of experience in food preparation or food processing, preferably within the produce industry.
Advanced knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and procedures in a produce food preparation environment.
Ability to follow instructions and established guidelines while performing job functions under moderate to limited supervision.
Bilingual preferred.
