Job Overview: Warren James is seeking an Assistant Product Developer - Temp to support the creation and maintenance of accurate, production-ready technical packages for creator merchandise and consumer products during our busy Q4 period. This junior-level position combines hands-on tech pack work with broader product development support, including translating approved designs into clear manufacturing specifications, assisting with sample reviews, organizing project materials, and supporting additional development needs. Reporting to the Director of Product Development, you will use Adobe Illustrator to prepare technical drawings, document product details, and incorporate feedback throughout development. You will also help organize samples, track revisions, and follow up on outstanding information to keep projects moving. This role requires some relevant experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to support multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. This is a temporary, full-time assignment lasting up to 90 days, with the potential to transition to regular full-time employment based on business and project needs. Conversion is not guaranteed.
Key Responsibilities: Create and update tech packs using established templates and direction from the Product Development team. Prepare technical flat drawings and detailed callouts in Adobe Illustrator to communicate product construction and design intent. Document measurements, materials, colors, trims, artwork placement, labeling, and packaging requirements, as applicable. Review tech packs for accuracy, completeness, and consistency with approved designs before submitting them for internal review. Incorporate approved sample feedback and design changes, maintaining clear revision histories and current files. Assist with sample tracking and review by organizing feedback, documenting discrepancies, and following up on revisions. Maintain product development trackers, specifications, Asana boards and shared files to keep project information organized and accessible. Coordinate with internal teams and manufacturing partners, as directed, to clarify specifications and obtain missing information. Flag inconsistencies, outstanding questions, and potential delays to the Product Developer team. Provide day-to-day product development support across apparel, accessories, and other merchandise categories. Perform other duties and support additional projects as assigned by your manager.
Qualifications and Experience: 1–2 years of experience in product development, merchandising, technical design, or a related field. Intermediate or higher Adobe Illustrator skills required Working familiarity with tech packs, product specifications, and the sample development process. Experience with apparel, accessories, or a variety of consumer product categories is a plus. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience, preferred. Skills and Attributes High attention to detail and accuracy when preparing specifications and updating files. Strong communication, organization, and follow-up skills. Ability to take initiative, prioritize assignments, and manage multiple projects and deadlines. Collaborative mindset and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems. Willingness to ask clarifying questions, apply feedback, and learn new product categories and processes. Ability to work effectively in a remote environment and keep teammates informed of progress and outstanding needs. Compensation and Benefits Biweekly Salary Range: $1,925 (minimum) to $2,300 (maximum), commensurate with experience.
