HVAC Technician (Commercial/Industrial)
Pay: $30/$35/hr
Location:
Hunsvtille, ALAbout the Role Seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC systems across City-owned facilities, parks, and recreational buildings. This role works independently, supports preventative maintenance programs, and responds to HVAC service needs while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED (technical/trade school preferred)4+ years of commercial and/or industrial HVAC experience Journeyman HVAC certification Valid driver's license Ability to obtain CDL Class B endorsementEPA Refrigerant Certification preferred/required
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC systems Troubleshoot chillers, boilers, air handlers, pumps, compressors, motors, and refrigeration systems Service DX equipment, VRF/VRV, mini-split, CRAC, and PTAC systems Maintain and troubleshoot building automation and DDC control systems Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and control schematics Complete service documentation and work orders using mobile devices and computers Collaborate with internal departments, contractors, and vendors Participate in on-call rotations and support facility improvement projects
Preferred Skills:
Strong knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, and air distribution systems Experience with VAV, VVT, ERV/ERU, VFD, and ECM motor systems Building Automation Systems (BAS) and DDC controls experience Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting expertise Welding experience is a plus Strong communication and customer service skills
