About the role

Postdoctoral FellowThe Sutter Laboratory in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Memphis is seeking a motivated postdoctoral fellow with strong experience in molecular and cell biology. You will join a NIH-funded multi-disciplinary team focused on the pharmacodynamics of aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) ligands and their system level effects on skin biology. Preference will be given to applicants with a strong publication record and experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, and immunology. Experience using complex analytical methods such as RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, and metabolomics, as well as experience in cell culture models, animal genetics and data analysis is beneficial. Strong oral and written communication skills are required. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Competitive benefits package included. The PDF will conduct research in a laboratory setting that focuses on the pharmacodynamics of aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) ligands and their system level effects on skin biology. PDF is expected to perform complex experiments using analytical methods of biochemistry, molecular biology, and immunology. Examples of such methods include RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, metabolomics, and flow cytometry. The ability to perform these experiments in primary cell culture, organotypic culture and in vivo, in rodents, will be required. In addition, good laboratory record keeping and the willingness to participate in research compliance are expected. Strong oral and written communication skills, willingness to train others, and the ability to write and submit scientific manuscripts are required. PhD in a Life Science discipline. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
