Human Resources TechnicianUnder the general supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, the Human Resources Technician performs a wide variety of highly advanced, technical, analytical, and office administrative support functions to support the Human Resources Division requiring independent judgment and discretion and involving frequent employee and public contact.Duties include performing a variety of administrative duties and providing assistance to prospective and current classified or certificated personnel; resolving personnel-related issues and concerns with discretion and confidentiality; referring more difficult or sensitive issues to supervisor as needed. The role also involves processing forms to complete employment, termination and benefit processes for employees, receiving applications for prospective candidates to fill vacant positions, reviewing applications to identify candidates meeting minimum qualifications and other predetermined criteria, and performing a variety of administrative duties related to the classified or certificated personnel function.The position requires knowledge of practices and procedures related to classified or certificated personnel, operations, policies and objectives relating to personnel activities, operation of office machines including computer equipment and specified software, record-keeping techniques, correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary, telephone techniques and etiquette, basic research methods, interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy, and the ability to perform a variety of technical duties and provide assistance to prospective and current classified or certificated personnel.Education and experience requirements include any combination equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by college-level course work in business administration, secretarial science, or a related field and four years clerical experience including at least two years of increasingly responsible human resources-related experience.Passing exams are required for this position.
