About the role

Underground Storage Tank Inspector Tanknology, a United Uptime Services Company, a fast-growing leader in the petroleum services industry, is looking for experienced, energetic, hardworking Field Service Technician Apprentice. As an Underground Storage Tank (UST) Inspector Trainee, you will receive on-the-job training to gain a comprehensive understanding of fuel management for facilities with above and below-ground storage systems. This role involves learning about the equipment, documentation, and procedures necessary for conducting inspections. Tanknology is the largest company dedicated to protecting the environment from fuel leaks in tanks and piping systems. What You'll Do: Drive a company service vehicle to customer locations, often on a designated route Perform inspections of fueling facilities, including visual observations and site surveys Provide on-site training to customers or company staff Conduct limited maintenance tasks based on site conditions Capture inspection results using customized data collection software on handheld devices or laptops
What We're Looking For: Mechanical aptitude with experience in trades (HVAC, plumbing, mechanics, electricians, carpenters, or cable technicians preferred)Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical tasks (stooping, bending, kneeling)Comfortable climbing 20 ft extension ladders multiple times daily Basic computer skills for data entry Effective communication skills Passion for Safety: A commitment to safety is non-negotiable. Customer Service Driven: Available to be on call and capable of completing all work efficiently while maintaining strong client relationships Ability to travel across multiple states, occasionally staying overnight (hotel and generous per diem provided)A Strong Educational Foundation: High school diploma or GED required Pre-Employment Testing: Must pass drug test, background, physical, and MVR check.
