We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Warehouse Apprentice to assist with daily warehouse operations, including material handling, packing, shipping, receiving, and inventory. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who is eager to learn, works safely, pays attention to detail, and takes pride in keeping materials and work areas organized. The position involves working with metal blocks, bars, cut pieces, remnants, and scrap while supporting warehouse and shipping/receiving operations.
Responsibilities:
- Pack and prepare metal blocks, bars, and cut pieces for shipment
- Identify, label, protect, and package materials accurately
- Assist with warehouse cleaning and organization
- Empty chip and scrap bins as needed
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks
- Pull materials from warehouse locations for customer orders and jobs
- Return remnants to the proper stock locations
- Help maintain accurate material identification and inventory locations
- Use computers and warehouse systems to look up materials, inventory, and jobs
- Follow safety procedures and proper material-handling practices
- Assist other warehouse team members as needed
Qualifications:
- Sit down forklift
- Dependable with a strong work ethic
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn warehouse software
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Willingness to learn warehouse and metal-handling procedures
- Team-oriented and organized
- Able to maintain a clean and safe work area
- Comfortable performing physical tasks in an active warehouse environment
