About the role
Seeking a highly experienced Transportation Underwriter, the full-time position offers a hybrid work schedule for candidates within 50 miles of an office location, focusing on underwriting new commercial business, renewal policies, and policy endorsements while supporting agency profitability objectives.
Key responsibilities:
Underwrite new commercial business and renewal policies to meet profitability and production objectives for assigned agencies
Evaluate individual risks and provide guidance and mentoring support to junior underwriters
Assist in analyzing agency performance and develop action plans to ensure underwriting profitability
Required qualifications:
Five years of experience in commercial transportation underwriting
Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field
Completion of the Associate in Underwriting program and CPCU coursework
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Experience in providing mentoring support to other underwriters
