We are representing a prestigious law firm’s Investment Management Group, which is seeking an associate to join its Chicago office. The firm has been a key player in major developments within the investment management space, advising on structuring, financing, operation, and regulation of investment companies, including closed‑end funds, mutual funds, ETFs, and BDCs. Requirements3–4 years of experience in investment management law, specifically related to 1940 Act registered funds or business development companies. High level of academic achievement. Experience in a peer law firm’s investment management group is preferred. Strong communication skills, with a focus on client service and teamwork.
What You’ll Do:
Work on regulatory advice for investment companies, including structuring, offerings, and operational strategies.
Collaborate with M&A colleagues on asset manager M&A transactions.
Participate in an enhanced mentor program aimed at providing support during professional transitions.
