About the role
Construction CoordinatorThe coordinator is responsible for assisting the DFH Estimating, Detailing, and/or Purchasing teams with coordination duties associated with project estimating and management.Duties & Responsibilities:Provide and maintain document control in Box and Comsense.Assist Estimating & Detailing teams in initial plan review (take-off, phasing, breakouts), data entry into Comsense, generating RFQ's and entering quotes into ComsenseHelp procure submittal requirements. (Gather Product Data, Substitution Requests, LEED, Manufacturer qualifications etc.) and coordinate Manufacturer supplied Submittals etc.)Assist with tasks related to shop drawings. (Drawing of Door and Frame Elevations under the supervision of the Detailer). Procure manufacturer supplied shop drawings as necessary.Track submittal deliverable dates and ensure they are met.Maintain project to do and issues list, report on progress to manager.Manage vendor or customer tasks/issues under the guidance of manager.Coordinate alongside Purchasing Department to procure, expedite, and track materials, backorders, shortage and breakage, quality, and warranty items.Support procurement and delivery of Project Closeout documents, O&Ms, Warranties etc.Coordinate Field Related issues between customers and manufacturers/suppliers and vendors.Other Duties:Please note that this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing or activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.Preferred Qualifications (in addition to minimum qualifications):Education/Experience:College degree with coursework in a technical area.2 years construction industry experience in an administrative role i.e., Project Coordinator,Experience responding to customer and/or vendor concernsKnowledge/Skills:Experience in construction coordination and closeoutExperience providing contractor or vendor supportAbility to read plans and specificationsMinimum Qualifications:Education/Experience:High School Diploma or equivalent or at least 2 years in an administrative or coordinator role in the construction industry.Experience assisting multiple teamsKnowledge/Skills:Strong written and verbal communication skillsStrong prioritization and organizational skills, detail-orientedProficiency in MS Office Suite applications, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPointEngages in company cultureOpen to feedback and flexible to changeAble to work in fast-paced, environment dealing with multiple team membersSelf-motivatedCustomer Service Skills:Demonstrates commitment to deliver outstanding service both with internal and external customersTakes ownership to personally resolve customer problems (or find someone who can)Listens well, asks clarifying questions, and checks for agreement with customersCommitted to following-up with customers in all instances in a timely mannerStrong sense of accountability - ensures that you will do what you say that you are going to doCreates a personal connection with customers smiles, warm greetings, acts friendly and respectfulPositive attitude
