Lead Field Automation Specialist, PLC Programming
Location:
Johnson Creek, WI (Field service across Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois)
Job Type: Full-time, Direct Hire
Pay:
$70,000 to $100,000 per year, plus company vehicle
Combine hands-on electro-mechanical troubleshooting with PLC programming in a high-autonomy field role at an established automation integrator with an average employee tenure of about 9 years.
Must-Haves
5+ years of electro-mechanical industrial maintenance experience (less considered with a strong technical skills assessment)
2+ years of PLC and HMI programming from scratch across multiple platforms
Strong electrical and controls skills, including panel wiring, schematics, motor controls, and power distribution
Experience with VFDs, DC controllers, and safety interlocks
Hands-on hydraulic and pneumatic system experience
Associate degree in Automated Systems, Controls, or Mechatronics, or equivalent hands-on field experience
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder
Must live within a 45-minute drive of Johnson Creek, WI
What You'll Do:
Lead field service calls, system startups, emergency repairs, retrofits, and upgrades
Design and program custom PLC and HMI control systems across multiple platforms
Troubleshoot control circuits, panels, VFDs, motor drives, and safety systems on-site
Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Install and commission automation equipment, including panels, light curtains, safety controllers, and cobots
Read schematics and blueprints to resolve customer issues quickly
Serve as a trusted technical advisor to reduce customer downtime

FANUC or Universal Robots (UR) robot or cobot programming
Ignition SCADA or SQL database integration
Ether Net/IP, Modbus, or PROFIBUS network configuration
