About the role
- Responsible for a variety of tasks including de-linking raw meat, bulk meat handling, preparing meat for cooking stages
- Maintain the production area, preparing products and following procedures within department
- Follow proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards
- Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing your station and the machinery, along with preparing items for the next work day
- Loading fermentation rooms and smokehouses
- Will assist vendors with loading and unloading trucks as needed
- Prior experience in a production or warehouse environment
- Mechanical knowledge for operating tools and equipment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Able to stop, stand, kneel, walk for the duration of the shift
- Ability to lift 50 lbs using proper lifting techniques learned in safety training
- Self-motivated and ability to ensure work is completed in a timely manner
- Punctual and dependable
- Physical stamina and strength to lift and carry heavy meat products
- Ability to work in a cold and wet environment
- Basic knowledge of food safety, sanitation and hygiene practices
- Awareness of food safety risks and escalates found risks to lead/supervisor.
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a team
- Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements protocols, and USDA guidelines
- Required use of non-slips shoes
