About the role
2027 Spring Quality Engineering Co-op / QMM6 - 1st ShiftBosch Location Charleston, SC Division Power Solutions Work Mode On-Site Field of work Engineering Join as Student Working time Full-time This Co-Op position works in the Bosch Charleston Measurement and Calibration Laboratory. The student will be guided by the Senior Metrology Engineer and technician team in the laboratory and on the production floor. The student will: Learn about usage, inspection and calibration of dimensional and electronic measuring and test equipment used in the lab and throughout the manufacturing plant. Gain experience reading engineering drawings and specifications for gages and parts to be inspected. Learn how to obtain data and carry out statistical studies (capability, Gage R&R, measurement uncertainty, etc.) to evaluate suitability of measuring equipment. Help to develop and improve instructions for calibration. Support quality and cost improvement activities related to measuring equipment.
Your Profile
Required Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in an accredited four-year college or university and pursuing a B.S. or higher in an engineering discipline
- Must be at sophomore level or higher with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Proficiency in PowerBi and/or AI preferred
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated motivation, discipline, and a strong work ethic
- Willingness to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience (academic projects, internships, or personal projects) demonstrating an interest in manufacturing, quality, or the automotive industry
- Familiarity with quality tools and methodologies such as 8D Problem Solving, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, or FMEAs (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Experience with project management principles or tools
