About the role
- Lead day-to-day plant operations, including production, scheduling, and workforce management
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture
- Monitor and improve KPIs related to safety, quality, productivity, cost, delivery, inventory, and labor efficiency
- Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to improve performance
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and reduce waste and operating costs
- Ensure products meet quality and design specifications
- Establish and maintain efficient production systems and processes
- Manage inventory accuracy and ensure on-time shipments
- Train, coach, and develop employees while building strong teams and succession plans
- Plan for short- and long-term capital equipment needs
- Directly supervise production managers and supervisory staff
- Work collaboratively with supply chain, technical, and finance teams
- 5–10 years of manufacturing leadership experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent related experience preferred
- Manufacturing experience in mineral processing, chemicals, refractory, and/or construction products preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on, proactive, and results-oriented approach
- Knowledge of manufacturing operations, production scheduling, and workforce management
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Operational Excellence preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across teams
