SecretaryPleasantville Public Schools, Pleasantville, New Jersey, is seeking a Secretary for a Business/Operations Non-Certified Position. The Secretary will provide secretarial and administrative support to the principal while facilitating the smooth and efficient operation of the main office. The role involves handling confidential information and frequent contact with all levels of district personnel, parents, and community members. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent training, minimum of two years experience, proficiency in MS Office Suite and web-based applications, excellent telephone skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. The candidate must demonstrate effective time management, problem-solving, organizational, and written and verbal skills. They should also be able to work independently, as appropriate, and be a team player. The Secretary will receive and route incoming calls and correspondence for the principal, perform and ensure office routines are carried out properly, maintain confidentiality, and prepare correspondence, notices, and reports. They will also assist the building principal with the school budget, complete special projects, prepare agenda items for board approval, process requisitions, and provide front office support. The physical demands include lifting items, sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, using close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, reaching, and handling objects. The environmental demands include exposure to various diseases, weather conditions, and chemical substances used for cleaning and instruction. The position is a 12-month employee with salary and work year set by the PEA contract. Salary range is $44,513.00 - $53,808.00. Candidates with previous experience will receive credit up to the eleventh step on the salary guide for previous experience.
