About the role

Collect and transport soiled laundry using designated containers and procedures. Sort linens and clothing according to fabric type, care instructions, and facility procedures. Operate commercial washers and dryers safely, using approved cycles and laundry products. Follow infection prevention practices, including separating clean and soiled laundry, performing hand hygiene, and wearing appropriate protective equipment. Fold, organize, store, and distribute clean linens promptly. Check resident clothing labels and return personal items to the correct resident. Handle residents’ belongings with care and report missing, damaged, or improperly labeled items. Maintain adequate linen supplies and report shortages. Keep the laundry room, equipment, carts, and storage areas clean and organized. Follow instructions for safe chemical handling and report equipment problems or hazards promptly Complete assigned tasks and required logs accurately and on time. Attend required training and assist with other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements: Previous laundry experience in a healthcare, senior living, hotel, or commercial laundry setting is preferred. Ability to understand and follow work instructions, clothing care labels, and safety directions. Ability to organize daily tasks and work efficiently with appropriate supervision. Strong attention to cleanliness and detail. Dependable attendance, punctuality, and a cooperative attitude. Respectful communication with residents, families, and coworkers. Commitment to protecting residents’ privacy, dignity, and personal belongings. Availability to work the posted schedule.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment: Work involves frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, repetitive folding, handling laundry, and pushing or pulling laundry carts. The employee must be able to perform the essential duties safely, with or without reasonable accommodation. The position involves exposure to heat, humidity, laundry chemicals, and soiled linens; required safety procedures and protective equipment must be used
