Runner/ Stylist Assistant
Location: Soho, New York, NYPosition Summary
The Stylist Assistant supports the sales and styling team by delivering an elevated client experience while ensuring operational excellence throughout the boutique. This role is responsible for supporting styling appointments, maintaining store presentation standards, managing merchandise replenishment, coordinating alterations and repairs, and assisting with daily store operations to ensure a seamless luxury shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
Client Experience & Styling Support: Support Stylists, Key Holders, and Sales Associates in delivering exceptional customer service and personalized styling experiences. Support Stylists and Key Holders in delivering an exceptional fitting room and client experience by preparing fitting rooms, pulling and replenishing merchandise, retrieving requested sizes and styles, anticipating client needs, and ensuring a seamless styling appointment from start to finish. Provide luxury gift wrapping services and prepare client purchases according to brand presentation standards. Develop and maintain strong product knowledge to effectively support clients and the sales team. Coordinate alterations and repairs, ensuring timely follow-up and communication with clients and team members.
Operations & Inventory Management: Maintain adequate stock levels on the sales floor through regular replenishment and organization of merchandise. Ensure shopping bags, packaging materials, and cash wrap supplies are fully stocked and available at all times. Replenish and organize products at the cash register and surrounding sales areas to support seamless store operations. Assist with receiving, unpacking, ticketing, and organizing new merchandise shipments. Support inventory counts, stock transfers, cycle counts, and other inventory-related tasks as needed. Assist with PR and consignment pulls, ensuring merchandise is accurately selected, prepared, tracked, and returned in accordance with company procedures.
Store Presentation & Standards: Maintain the organization, cleanliness, and presentation of the sales floor, fitting rooms, stockroom, and cash wrap area. Ensure all merchandise is displayed according to company visual merchandising standards and luxury presentation guidelines. Support the team in maintaining a polished and welcoming boutique environment at all times.
Point of Sale & Administrative Support: Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently while delivering exceptional customer service. Assist with opening and closing procedures, including operational and cash wrap responsibilities. Support daily store operations and special projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications: Previous retail, luxury retail, or customer service experience preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Experience with point-of-sale systems and cash handling procedures preferred. Passion for fashion, styling, and luxury client service. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and move merchandise up to 25 pounds. Ability to bend, reach, climb ladders, and perform stockroom duties as needed.
