About the role

Volunteer at the City Center DC Farmers Market on Tuesdays! FRESHFARM builds a more equitable, sustainable, and resilient food system in the Mid-Atlantic region through hands-on education, farmers markets, farm stands, and food distribution programs. Join our team as a Farmers Market Volunteer! We are currently in great need of volunteers that can speak both Mandarin and English, to assist with translations and customer service at our farmers market information tent. Volunteers will assist FRESHFARM Market Staff to communicate the details of vital food access programs to our market customers that speak Mandarin. Volunteers are needed at our City Center DC Farmers Market on Tuesdays (11am-2pm, May-October) We are also in need of volunteers at our Mount Vernon Triangle Market on Saturdays (9am-2pm, year-round). Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
