About the role

A leading aerospace manufacturer is looking for a Design Engineer to join a highly funded engineering group working on both established and next-generation aircraft programs. This is a hands-on design role focused on aircraft hydraulic systems and components, with the opportunity to work across legacy landing gear platforms as well as significant NPI and clean-sheet development for next-generation helicopter programs. The Role as a Design Engineer: Lead the design and development of new aerospace hydraulic products from concept through production. Design hydraulic components and systems supporting established aircraft and landing gear platforms. Work on NPI and clean-sheet engineering projects for next-generation helicopter programs. Develop conceptual designs from customer requirements and specifications. Own technical aspects of new product development, including drawings, documentation and production readiness. Perform and support tolerance studies, structural/FEA, hydraulic and dynamic analysis. Develop qualification test plans and support component testing and qualification. Work closely with customers, manufacturing and cross-functional engineering teams. Provide technical support for production and fielded products. Help mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers. Support the transition of new designs into production. What We're Looking For in the Design Engineer: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.2+ years of product design experience, ideally involving aerospace hydraulics, hydraulic components, actuators, landing gear or a related field. Strong analytical and problem-solving background. Experience taking products through design, development, qualification and production. Strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerancing and design for manufacturing. Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
