About the role
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the development, implementation, and management of site-specific safety programs, policies, and procedures. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA standards. Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determine root causes, and develop preventative measures. Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and field personnel to integrate safety requirements into daily operations and project planning. Deliver safety training programs, toolbox talks, and new hire orientations. Conduct OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 training for applicable employees. Monitor subcontractor compliance with site safety requirements. Maintain accurate records relating to safety inspections, incidents, corrective actions, and training activities. Promote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a construction safety role. OSHA 500 and OSHA 510 certifications required. Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification. Experience working within heavy civil, utility, infrastructure, or construction environments preferred.
