About the role
- Client and engagement leadership
- Lead 4 to 6 concurrent client engagements: forecasting and budgets, 13-week cash, board and investor reporting, fundraise and M&A support.
- Build and maintain 3-statement models and financial tooling quickly, and keep working capital and cash at the center of the conversation.
- Own close quality and delivery timelines, directing our specialist delivery team.
- Be a trusted voice for founders, CEOs, and client finance leaders, from weekly cash calls to hard decisions on spend and priorities.
- Help scope, price, and expand engagements alongside the managing partners.
- Go-to-market and business development
- Engagement management: you've run multiple clients or workstreams at the same time and kept delivery on track without partner involvement.
- Real C-suite mileage with investor-backed growth-stage and lower middle market companies ($3M to $250M+ in revenue): you've advised founders, CEOs, sponsors, and finance chiefs directly, handled hard conversations about cash, and been accountable for numbers that executives acted on.
- Interest in and aptitude for business development: you're comfortable in sales conversations, scoping, and building relationships that bring in new clients.
- Strong command of working capital and cash, and the ability to build a 3-statement model from scratch.
- You use AI in your daily work to streamline finance workflows, and you can describe specifically what you built or changed and what it saved.
- Comfort with core finance systems (QuickBooks Online, NetSuite) and the stack around them: billing, payroll, expense, banking.
- Strong plus
- Experience in CPG (DTC and wholesale) or software/SaaS. Generalists are welcome if they understand working capital and unit economics. Manufacturing, fintech, and asset-based businesses are also in our client mix.
- Working with PE portfolio companies, from either the sponsor or the operating side.
- Working fluency in Python or TypeScript, SQL, and APIs. Hands-on experience with agent frameworks and LLM tooling (Claude, MCP servers, etc.).A GitHub repo or portfolio of tools you've built.
- You'll Thrive Here IfA clean board deck and a clean pull request give you the same satisfaction.
- You've automated parts of your own job before anyone asked you to.
- You're comfortable telling a CEO something they don't want to hear.
- You want to help build the operating system for how finance departments run.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
