Sign Designer / Maker - Full-Time On-Site - TM Signs & Graphics - Bakersfield, CA TM Signs & Graphics is a locally owned, independent sign shop in Bakersfield looking for an experienced Sign Designer/Maker to join our small, tight-knit team.

A Typical Day Develop sign designs to meet client goals using Adobe Illustrator (and learn/use other software platforms as needed)
Produce signs using raw materials - vinyl, laminate, metal, and acrylic substrates
Print, laminate, cut vinyl on the plotter, mask/weed, and apply graphics
Perform quality control (check spelling, color, size, and proof match)
Install simple signs: door graphics, vehicle wraps, wall/fence mounts, etc.
Keep the production area clean and organized (trash, sweep, proper tool storage)
Track project records accurately (electronic and paper)
Monitor waste, recommend process improvements, and participate in daily production meetings
Who We’re Looking For 3 years of hands‑on sign production experience (not primarily graphic design); computer savvy
Strong skills in Adobe Illustrator (or very similar vector software) and willingness to learn additional platforms
Proven self‑starter who works independently with minimal supervision
Excellent work ethic, reliability, and conscientious attention to detail
Positive team player who is easy to work with, respectful, and maintains a great attitude every day
Organized, clean, and takes ownership of your workspace
Strong communication skills and a strong sense of urgency
Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
Strong professional references (we will check them)
Nice‑to‑Haves (Big Plus) Vehicle wrap installation experience
Knowledge of color management
3M or Avery Certified Installer
Compensation $18.00 - $25.00 per hour (commensurate with experience). Pay is reviewed after 90 days.
