About the role
- Operate wheel loaders to efficiently load trucks with mulch and bulk materials.
- Ensure proper weight distribution and safe loading techniques to prevent spills or overloading.
- Work closely with truck drivers to coordinate accurate and timely deliveries.
- Topsoil Production:
- Use an excavator to process, mix, and prepare topsoil according to company standards.
- Monitor material consistency and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality.
- Assist in screening and refining soil to remove debris and enhance product value.
- Equipment Operation & Maintenance:
- Conductdaily inspectionson wheel loaders, excavators, and other equipment to identify wear and potential mechanical issues.
- Performbasic maintenance, such as greasing moving parts, checking fluid levels, and cleaning machines after operation.
- Report any mechanical concerns to management to prevent breakdowns and maintain productivity.
- Worksite Organization & Safety:
- Maintain a clean and well-organized work area to ensure smooth operations.
- Follow all company safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).Operate machinery responsibly to avoid damage to equipment and surroundings.
- Be prepared to work in varying weather conditions and adapt to changing job-site needs.
- Experience operating heavy equipment, including wheel loaders, excavators, and skid steers.
- Ability towork outdoors in all weather conditionsand handle physically demanding tasks.
- Strongattention to detailto ensure efficient loading and quality product preparation.
- Reliability and punctuality—we need team members who show up ready to work every day.
- Mechanical knowledge or troubleshooting skills forminor equipment repairsis a plus.
- Must have avalid driver's licenseand reliable transportation.
- Schedule & Compensation:
- Monday – Friday, 8 hour shifts
