Job Summary: Division/Department Information The Division of Administration & Economics houses the B.S. in Fashion Studies, Program the B.S. in Enterprise Regulation: Profit and Non-Profit, and the A.S. Program in Business Administration. The Fashion Studies Program provides students with knowledge, skills, and experiences to succeed in the industry. The program provides a comprehensive, in-depth, and global approach to studying the business aspects of the fashion industry. The core curriculum consists of courses in various areas of fashion, business, ethics, and sustainability. Foundational knowledge and skills in fashion studies are supported. The Enterprise Regulation: The Profit and Non-Profit program focus on the business industry’s fundamental competencies, which are vital for the field’s future managers. The core curriculum in the liberal arts will provide the broad knowledge and strong communication skills that today’s employers expect of well-educated professionals. Business Law knowledge will facilitate effective managers and facilitate effective managers while also cultivating creativity, leadership skills and entrepreneurial abilities that are in wide demand in the business arena. This program provides students with business law knowledge, skills, and experiences to succeed in the business industry. Internships are an integral part of our programs. Internships may be completed in New York and at one of the University’s global campuses, locations in Rome, Paris, and Limerick, Ireland. The St. John’s Community provides internship guidance, mentoring students and provides students with the tutelage to succeed in their chosen career.
Responsibilities: The Fashion Studies Program provides students with the knowledge skills and experience to succeed in the industry. The program provides a comprehensive-in-depth and global approach to studying the business aspects of the fashion industry. The core curriculum consists of courses in various areas of fashion business, ethics, and sustainability. Foundational knowledge and skills in fashion studies are supported. The adjunct professor should be familiar with the digital fashion process. The adjunct professor should be comfortable teaching various courses such as: Current Issues in Fashion, Color in Life and Fashion, Construction of Denim: Past, Present and Future, and Retailing just to name a few of the courses.
Qualifications: All applicants must hold a master’s degree; industry experience is needed. Must demonstrate a proficiency in the field of Fashion. In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the salary range for this position is Adjunct Instructor $1,803 per contact hour, Adjunct Assistant $1,906 per contact hour, Adjunct Associate $2,009 per contact hour, and Adjunct Professor $2,215 per contact hour.
