Job Title: Lead Print Operator
Location: West Haven, CT
Job Type: Hourly Consultant
Hours: 8 am to 5 pm, M-F
Pay: up to $28.99/hr
There is a small amount of driving with this role using a client vehicle. Valid driver's license and no more than one moving violation in the past three years.
Essential Functions: Oversee daily print shop operations, workflow, scheduling, and production priorities to meet customer deadlines and service levels. Assign work and provide direction, training, and mentoring to print shop staff. Operate high-volume digital production printers, copiers, wide-format printers, scanners, bindery, and finishing equipment. Perform quality control inspections and final checks to ensure accurate, high-quality production. Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate service requests as needed. Maintain inventory of paper, toner, finishing supplies, and other production materials. Serve as the primary customer contact for print requests, specifications, timelines, and project updates. Recommend appropriate paper, finishing options, production methods, and print specifications. Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly. Track production volumes, job status, material usage, equipment maintenance, and performance metrics. Identify workflow bottlenecks and support process improvements to increase production efficiency and accuracy. Maintain a safe, organized, and customer-focused production environment. Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods. Experience operating high-volume digital production and finishing equipment. Experience leading, training, or supervising print production staff preferred. Experience with Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, or Adobe Creative Suite preferred. Experience with variable data printing and document management systems preferred. Education High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's degree in Graphic Communications, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
