About the role

Job Description: Job Description House Manager / Family Assistant North Tustin, CA (about 10 minutes from the Orange Circle)
  • 20–40 hours/week
  • $25–32/hour (DOE) We're a busy family looking for a House Manager to help keep our home running smoothly. This is a hands-on role for someone who likes variety, notices what needs doing, and takes care of it without being asked twice. Our household includes 3 month old baby, one dog, and one cat. You'd become a trusted part of our day-to-day life, so we're looking for someone we can build a long-term relationship with.
What the role looks like Light housekeeping: tidying, laundry, dishes, keeping common areas reset Errands: groceries, returns, dry cleaning Some babysitting / date nights Pet care: walks & fetch Staying ahead of household needs: restocking supplies, scheduling appointments, ect. Occasional travel with the family if you're comfortable Who we're looking for A great communicator. You keep us in the loop, ask when something isn't clear, and don't leave us guessing. Thoughtful. You pay attention to how our household actually works and adapt to it. Self-starting. You see what needs doing and do it, rather than waiting for a list. Strong common sense. You can make good judgment calls in the moment, especially with a baby and pets in the mix. A quick learner. You pick up our routines, preferences, and systems fast and get better at them over time. Genuinely good with kids and animals. Calm, warm, and safe around a baby, a dog, and a cat.
Requirements: Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record Comfortable with a flexible schedule, including some evenings for date nights Current CPR certification (infant/child CPR preferred) Must pass a background check References from previous families or employers Prior experience in a similar role is a plus but not required if you're the right fit Schedule and pay 20–40 hours per week, with flexibility on how those hours are structured $25–32/hour, depending on experience Looking to hire as soon as we find the right person, with some flexibility on your exact start date We're open to discussing a schedule that works well for both of us How to apply Send a short note about yourself, your relevant experience, your general availability, and two references to the e-mail provided. We read every application and will follow up with candidates who seem like a good match.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
