Brunel Energy is recruiting a Measurement Engineer to work with a major oil and gas company on a 12-month contract in Sabine Pass, TX.
Position Summary: The role will provide technical leadership for process analyzers, custody transfer measurement systems, and analyzer reliability programs across LNG facilities. It will drive improvements in analyzer availability, accuracy, maintainability, and lifecycle management while serving as the site’s subject matter expert for online analyzers and measurement systems. The position will lead efforts to identify and resolve chronic analyzer issues, reduce operational risk, and strengthen long-term reliability and data quality.
Responsibilities: Lead analyzer and measurement reliability improvement initiatives across LNG and utility systems. Serve as the technical authority for online analyzers, sampling systems, and custody transfer measurement equipment. Identify and drive closure of recurring analyzer and measurement vulnerabilities. Lead troubleshooting and root cause investigations for analyzer failures, bad quality data, and measurement system issues. Develop and implement analyzer reliability strategies, preventive maintenance programs, and lifecycle plans. Support Management of Change (MOC), process hazard reviews, incident investigations, and startup readiness activities. Establish analyzer performance metrics and monitor system health, availability, calibration effectiveness, and data quality. Interface with Operations, Maintenance, Process Engineering, Instrument & Controls, OEMs, and external specialists to resolve complex technical issues. Develop long-term improvement plans for analyzer houses, sample conditioning systems, chromatographs, moisture analyzers, sulfur analyzers, and emissions monitoring systems. Support Train 1 stabilization efforts and Train 2 startup readiness activities.
Qualifications: B.S. in Chemical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.10+ years of experience in LNG, upstream oil & gas, gas processing, refining, petrochemical, or related energy facilities. Strong background in process analyzers, sampling systems, custody transfer measurement, and analyzer reliability. Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and supporting gas chromatographs, moisture analyzers, sulfur analyzers, calorimeters, CEMS, density analyzers, and other online analytical systems. Working knowledge of custody transfer measurement systems, regulatory compliance requirements, and industry standards. Experience leading root cause investigations and developing sustainable solutions for chronic analyzer reliability issues. Strong ability to translate analyzer performance issues into actionable reliability
