Job Description
Job Summary: We are looking for dependable and hardworking Sorters to join the team at a busy recycling and materials recovery facility. The Sorter will work along a conveyor line inspecting and sorting recyclable materials while helping maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities: Inspect and sort materials based on type, size, condition, color, or grade Remove contaminants from paper and other recyclable materials Feed materials onto the conveyor Stack boxes and skids Dump boxes and totes of material Keep the conveyor and sorting area clean and organized Monitor equipment and conveyor operations Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines Report equipment problems and safety concerns to management Participate in safety and operations meetings Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements: No specific certification or license required Previous industrial, manufacturing, recycling, warehouse, or production experience is a plus Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment Ability to stand and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods Ability to handle materials weighing up to approximately 30 lbs. Must be dependable and safety-conscious Must be able to work around dirt, odors, noise, and changing weather conditions Required Work Attire Safety requirements must be followed at all times:6-inch steel-toe boots Long-sleeve shirt Long pants Clothing must be free of rips or tears No hoodies No long-hanging jewelry
Work Environment: This position is performed in an industrial recycling/materials recovery environment. Employees may be exposed to dirt, odors, noise, outdoor weather conditions, and moving equipment.
