Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician II / Mechanical Technician II to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of gas transmission facilities in Stony Point, NY.This is a hands-on field position responsible for the inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and compliance activities associated with critical mechanical systems and station equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with compressors, rotating equipment, industrial mechanical systems, air systems, dryers, fuel systems, cooling systems, or gas-related equipment. Candidates with pipeline, compressor station, industrial gas, or energy-sector experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities: Perform inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and compliance activities on station equipment and mechanical systems. Maintain and troubleshoot: Gas compression equipment Compressors and rotating equipment Prime movers Air systems and air dryers Fuel systems Cooling systems Auxiliary station equipment Identify abnormal operating conditions and take appropriate action to support safe and reliable operations. Diagnose mechanical and equipment problems and perform corrective repairs. Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities. Read and interpret P&IDs, equipment drawings, manuals, and technical documentation. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements. Complete maintenance records, inspection reports, work orders, and other required documentation accurately. Work closely with operations personnel, maintenance teams, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders. Assist with equipment operation, measurement, telecommunications, electrical controls, and other maintenance activities as required. Support equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives. Participate in emergency response and troubleshooting activities when required. Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment.
Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. At least 2 years of directly related mechanical maintenance training and/or experience. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability. Experience diagnosing and repairing industrial mechanical equipment. Ability to read and understand technical documentation, equipment manuals, and P&IDs. Knowledge of safe work practices and commitment to company safety standards. Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team. Basic computer skills and ability to use maintenance/documentation systems. Valid driver's license and ability to maintain driving privileges.
