About the role
- Own buy planning and merchandising strategy: including demand forecasting, procurement schedules, and a merchandising calendar to keep buying and assortment decisions aligned with seasonal launches and business goals
- Analyze sales performance, including sell-through and inventory turn, to inform assortment and reorder decisions across Design Shop locations
- Manage inventory levels across Design Shop locations, including replenishment and new product buys
- Place purchase orders, negotiate pricing and volume discounts, and manage vendor relationships in coordination with Finance and Logistics
- Partner with Visual Merchandising and Branding on store layouts, product adjacencies, and display strategy; develop and maintain a merchandising style guide for consistent presentation across locations
- Partner with Visual Merchandising and Space Planning on hot zones and in-store storytelling for new Design Shop location launches
- Collaborate with local Design Shop teams on pop-ups, special retail activations, and biannual sales, including SKU lists, pricing, and coordination with Marketing and Events teams
- Maintain the Design Shop website by launching new products and partnering with Branding and Art teams on quarterly homepage updates
- 3-5 years of experience in merchandising or buying (home or lifestyle industry preferred)
- Experience managing vendors, purchase orders, and inbound logistics
- Experience with ERP, inventory, or ecommerce systems (Square, Great Plains / SalesPad)
- Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with visual merchandising or store layouts
- Interest in interior design, luxury retail, or start-up environments
