About the role
Show Lighting Maintenance Manager Responsible for managing the preventative and corrective maintenance performed on all Ride and Show lighting equipment for USF, IOA and Volcano Bay. Ensures timely and efficient use of materials and labor to maintain the creative intent as well as the show quality of show lighting systems. Manages all labor and resources within the Show Systems department and ensures safe work practices while conducting maintenance tasks.
Major Responsibilities:
Supervises the Show Systems Lighting team to ensure the quality of Ride and Show lighting meets required standards which includes adhering to standards as directed by the Universal Engineering/Creative/EHS/Attraction Operations departments. Coordinates capital projects and "dry" project/rehabs which includes coordinating efforts and plans with various ride managers, supervisors, coordinators, and budgetary personnel. Responsible for and directs best practices for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on all show lighting equipment. Updates various processes for the department, ensuring sufficiency and effectiveness of the preventative maintenance system, troubleshooting processes, and corrective maintenance tasks. Manages the planning and scheduling process of the shift in accordance with departmental policies. Support the Ride Reliability Team and demonstrate the ability to develop and execute action plans to prevent the reoccurrence of downtimes as they pertain to show lighting equipment. Conduct employee staff meetings and provide coaching, mentoring and feedback to team members. Administer counseling, performance evaluations and performance recognition to team members. Ensure safety and equipment training is complete. Develop safety plans and processes for staff to follow. Ensure accuracy of labor reporting, time and attendance, Maximo reporting, and preventative maintenance system. Develop solutions on replacing deficient and obsolete equipment. Contact vendors and equipment manufacturers for products and solutions. Monitor industry trends and forecast failures. Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities. Performs other duties as assigned. Scope: Responsible for maintaining show quality and ride readiness of various show lighting equipment and effects in the rides and shows throughout USF, IOA, and Volcano Bay.
Education:
High school degree or GED is required.
Technical school in Theatrical lighting or equivalent is preferred.
Associate's degree (AA) in Business Management degree or equivalent is preferred.
Other: Any lighting technical certificates or training is a plus.
Experience:
5 years experience in a theatrical lighting field would be preferred or equivalent managerial experience in related field.1 to 2 years experience in a leadership role including but not limited to lead within the park, field supervisor in theme park environment, supervisor in theatrical lighting or equivalent supervision role preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
