Civil Litigation Legal Secretary - Hybrid (San Jose, CA) Join us atCSAA Insurance Group, a AAA insureras a senior legal secretarial professional supporting two attorneys in the Property & Casualty insurance defense practice. Base pay range:$62,460.00/yr - $69,400.00/yrResponsibilitiesGenerates, composes, drafts correspondence and various legal documents and forms. Organizes and maintains electronic files related to current cases and various legal matters. Dockets and calendars legal appearances and filing deadlines. Provides administrative support to attorneys with depositions, medical examinations, court and arbitration hearings, and works with retained experts. Juggles calendar and scheduling with follow‑up tasks.e‑files documents with the court. Demonstrates proactive understanding of case files and responds when necessary. Required Experience, Education and Skills3–5 years of experience as a Legal Secretary or equivalent. Knowledge of legal terminology and proper formats for legal documents, legal procedures, and document editing skills. Ability to multi‑task and prioritize. Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work. Ability to manage in a strictly electronic (paperless) environment. Strong PC skills. Strong Microsoft Office product skills, including Office 365, TEAMS, and OneDrive. Skilled in working with Adobe and manipulating PDF documents. Demonstrated knowledge of legal software applications. Must handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Strong oral and written communication skills and organizational skills. Ability to file using alpha‑numeric systems. Advanced knowledge of relevant practice areas and legal procedures. Must have authorization to work indefinitely in the U.S.What would make us excited about you? Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Notary license. Knowledge of Electronic Legal Management e‑Docs and Team Connect preferred. California court‑venue understanding and familiarity with local rules; e‑filling experience with various California courts. Active participation in employee resource groups or volunteer activities that shape corporate culture. Willingness to use cameras during onboarding and team meetings as appropriate. Required travel for role, including divisional/team meetings and other in‑person meetings. Willingness to invest extra time to support business needs and help other teams.
