What You'll Do:
- Design, build, and maintain full-stack applications that shape the future of the dating landscape
- Partner closely with Product, Design, Data, and Matchmaking teams to translate business needs into scalable solutions
- Spearhead architectural decisions that help shape the future of our platform
- Develop AI-powered features and workflows to improve customer experiences and internal operations
- Build high-quality, maintainable systems that prioritize performance, reliability, and scalability
- Improve engineering processes, development standards, and technical best practices
- Mentor other engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence
- Partner with our ML team to integrate models directly into the product experience
What We're Looking For:
This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for a Staff/Lead-level engineering leader who can build quickly, make strong technical decisions, and help turn an early product thesis into a working product.
Qualifications:
- 8-10+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Experience designing scalable APIs and distributed systems
- Experience building AI-powered applications, workflows, or integrations using modern LLM technologies
- Strong understanding of software architecture, testing, and maintainability
- Ability to balance speed, quality, and pragmatic decision-making
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Interest in mentoring junior engineers
- Experience with 0 to 1 initiatives
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in TypeScriptExperience with NextJS, React, TailwindCSS, tRPCExperience with NestJS, Prisma, Postgres
- Familiarity with AWS and GCPPreferred Skills
- Experience with recommendation or matching systems, marketplaces, or personalization
- Prior experience at an early or growth-stage startupCS degree or related technical degree
