Business Development Representative
Job Summary: The Business Development Representative is responsible for supporting the front end of the business development process by identifying prospective clients, conducting outbound prospecting, following up on generated leads, and securing qualified appointments with key decision-makers. The position researches prospective accounts, maintains consistent follow-up, and participates in prospective client meetings with senior leadership. The role is focused on opening new opportunities and building pipeline rather than managing proposals, negotiations, or closing sales.
Key Responsibilities: Research and identify prospective clients and appropriate decision-makers. Generate new business opportunities through proactive outbound prospecting. Follow up promptly and consistently with leads generated through the organization’s lead-generation platform. Conduct outreach through phone, email, Linked In, and other appropriate channels. Qualify prospective clients and identify potential business opportunities. Schedule appointments with qualified decision-makers. Attend prospective client meetings alongside senior leadership. Research prospects and prepare relevant background information before meetings. Re-engage former, inactive, and previously contacted accounts. Maintain consistent follow-up with prospects throughout the business development process. Develop opportunities in established and underdeveloped markets. Maintain accurate records of prospecting activities, contacts, appointments, and follow-up. Collaborate with leadership and marketing on targeted business development initiatives. Develop a strong understanding of the organization’s services and value proposition.
Minimum Education & Experience
Requirements: No specific education or minimum years of experience are stated. Previous experience in business development, sales development, inside sales, lead generation, appointment setting, or a related client-facing role is preferred rather than required.
