About the role

Lead the Department’s Dam Safety Program and oversee a multi-billion-dollar program to rehabilitate or replace dams, including planning, technical studies, project design and delivery, and regulatory compliance. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, represent the program before City and regulatory bodies, and manage its operating, capital, and personnel budgets.
Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, public administration, or a related field, plus seven years of progressively responsible leadership experience is required; equivalent combinations of education and experience may qualify.
Desired qualifications include: California Professional Civil Engineer registration, major dam project experience, knowledge of California regulatory agencies, and demonstrated expertise in infrastructure programs, complex budgets, leadership, and stakeholder communication.
