About the role
- Actively manage and prioritize work within the firm's workflow management system to ensure timely completion of assignments
- Review job requests and instructions to confirm accuracy and completeness prior to production
- Meet requested deadlines and promptly communicate with supervisor regarding potential delays or issues
- Check assignments for proper supporting materials and information required for processing documents; advise supervisor of potential problems in job requests
- Revise, format, and proofread documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with firm standards
- Convert handwritten, scanned, dictated, or draft materials into polished, professional legal documents
- Create and apply templates, styles, tables, and formatting in accordance with firm guidelines and best practices (e.g., DocXtools, styles)
- Transmit and receive documents via electronic means, including scanning, email, and workflow systems
- Import and manage documents in the document management system (iManage)
- Transcribe dictations as needed
- 3-4 years of legal secretary experience
- Litigation experience and knowledge of legal processes
- Strong redlining and document editing skills
- Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively with a team
- Ability to work effectively in an onsite, team-oriented environment
