About the role
- Safely transport steel products to customers using flatbed trailers
- Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules to ensure timely and accurate delivery of material
- Secure loads using chains, straps, and tarps to ensure safe transport
- Maintain electronic driver logs (E-logs) in compliance with DOT regulations
- Identify and report vehicle maintenance or safety issues as needed
- Ensure proper load weight distribution and securement prior to departure
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Qualifications & SkillsValid CDL-A license required
- Clean driving record required in accordance with company and DOT standards
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Ability to operate commercial vehicles safely in varying weather and road conditions
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules
- Previous commercial driving or flatbed experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Ability to work independently and manage long-distance routes
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 80 pounds (tarps)
- Ability to sit and drive for extended periods
- Ability to climb and maneuver to secure loads
- Work performed both driving and outdoors with varying weather conditions
