Overview: We are seeking a Telecom Translation Engineer to support a large-scale migration from legacy TDM voice networks to modern SIP trunking infrastructure. This role is ideal for professionals with experience provisioning trunk groups, maintaining switch translations, and supporting carrier voice networks within Central Office or telecommunications environments.
Responsibilities: Provision and maintain trunk groups across legacy voice switching platforms Implement and modify switch translations for routing, signaling, and call processing Support migration efforts from TDM voice networks to SIP-based infrastructure Troubleshoot call routing, signaling, trunking, and translation issues Execute network changes and major routing updates with minimal service disruption Access and manage switch environments through Telnet tools such as PuTTY and SecureCRTPartner with network engineering and operations teams to support modernization initiatives Required Experience 5 years experience with trunk group provisioning in telecom voice networks as a Translation Engineer Hands-on experience with 2+ legacy voice switches, including: 5ESS, DMS100, DMS10, DCO, EWSD, GTD5, C20 Strong understanding of TDM voice architecture Experience supporting carrier, telecommunications, or Central Office environments Working knowledge of voice signaling protocols including SS7, ISDN, PRI, SIP, or Q.931 Experience using Telnet-based access toolsSIP trunking experienceTDM-to-SIP migration projectsTIRKS inventory system experience Ribbon (formerly Sonus/Nortel) platform experience
