About the role
Gunite Swimming Pool Project Manager Do you have experience managing residential construction projects and enjoy making sure a project is completed correctly, on schedule, and with excellent customer service? Hughes Pools & Spas is looking for an experienced Gunite Pool Construction Project Manager to join our growing team. This position is responsible for taking sold swimming pool projects and managing them through the entire construction process—from scheduling and excavation through completion and customer handoff.
THE ROLE:
The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact between the customer, sales team, construction crews, subcontractors, and suppliers throughout the construction process. The ideal candidate is organized, hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects at different stages of construction.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Manage Gunite swimming pool projects from sold contract through completion· Review contracts, plans, specifications, and project details before construction begins· Schedule excavation, plumbing, steel, Gunite, coping, tile, decking, equipment, electrical, and other construction phases· Coordinate subcontractors and construction crews· Conduct regular job-site inspections· Monitor project progress, quality, and workmanship· Ensure construction follows approved plans and specifications· Communicate project schedules and updates to homeowners· Identify and resolve construction issues· Coordinate materials and equipment needed for each project· Track project timelines and communicate potential delays· Coordinate inspections and required approvals· Work closely with the sales team during the transition from sale to construction· Maintain accurate project documentation· Conduct final walkthroughs with customers· Coordinate punch-list items and final completion · Ensure a professional customer experience from construction start through completionWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Previous residential construction or project management experience Swimming pool construction experience strongly preferred Knowledge of gunite pool construction is a major plus Ability to read construction plans and specifications Strong organizational and scheduling skills Excellent communication and customer-service skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong problem-solving skills Attention to detail Ability to work independently and make sound day-to-day decisions Professional appearance and demeanor Valid driver's license and reliable transportation You don't have to know everything about pool construction on day one, but you must be organized, dependable, proactive, and willing to learn.
